Videobooth
Video gallery and guestbook playback
Replay, delete and retrieve an event's video messages, and give them to your clients.
Mode rolling out. Depending on your version of BoothX, some features described here may not be available yet.
The video gallery
Recorded messages appear in the videobooth's video gallery, newest first, for the selected event. Each message shows its date and size.
- Play: tap a message to replay it with sound.
- Delete: a failed message (guest left too early, camera blocked) can be deleted after confirmation. Deletion is permanent.
- Open folder: opens the event's message folder in the file explorer.
The Storage page (Videos filter) gathers the events' videos; depending on your version, guestbook messages appear there or remain accessible from the videobooth gallery.
Play the guestbook
For a screening at the end of the evening or to hand over to the couple:
- Open the event's video gallery.
- Play the messages in order, or open the folder and use the video player of your choice in playlist mode.
- Connect the booth to a projector or a TV, with the venue's sound system.
An automatic final edit of the guestbook (all messages back to back with an intro and an outro) is part of the planned improvements to the videobooth.
Retrieve the messages
Messages are standard MP4 files, organized by event in the BoothX data folder. To hand them over to your client:
- copy the folder to a USB drive (remember to allow the drive if blocking of unknown USB drives is on);
- or upload them to a file-sharing service;
- or edit them in your usual video-editing software.
Uploading to the web panel
Uploading video messages to your online space, to share them with a link like photos, is planned. Since it uses storage and bandwidth, it will be one of the pay-as-you-go services; recording, playback and retrieval on the booth remain free. See Free forever or pay-as-you-go.
Disk space
Videos take up much more space than photos. Before a big event:
- check the computer's free space;
- copy, then delete, the messages from past events;
- watch for the Low disk space alert on the web panel.
Respecting privacy
A video message shows the guest's face and voice. Display a clear notice on the welcome screen (“Your message will be given to the couple”) and don't share the messages beyond what was announced.
