Getting to know the BoothX interface

Sidebar, Dashboard, title bar and account menu: where to find each feature.

The BoothX interface is designed for touch as well as the mouse: large tap targets, one page at a time, and settings organized by topic.

The sidebar

The sidebar gives you access to the main pages:

Some entries are marked Coming soon (Flash, Lighting, Payments, AI…): they announce features in the works. The new pages of the multi-mode platform (Launcher, Videobooth, Game booth, Music, Subscription) appear in the sidebar as they arrive in your version.

Ctrl+B (⌘B on Mac) shows or hides the sidebar. Right-click the sidebar, or go to Settings › Display › Sidebar, to choose:

  • Closed sidebar: Icons (the sidebar shrinks to icons) or Hidden (the page takes the full width);
  • Open sidebar: In place (the page shifts over) or Over the page (a panel that closes after you pick something, handy on small screens).

The Dashboard

The Dashboard greets you with a Hello and brings together:

  • Booth activity: photos, prints, videos, GIFs and boomerangs for the day, week and month, with a comparison between periods;
  • This booth: name, ID, cloud storage used (for example “1.2 / 5 GB”) and the Change booth button;
  • Camera and Printer: the detected device (or No camera detected, No printer) with a shortcut to its settings;
  • Lock: the active method (Disabled, PIN or Pattern) and a shortcut to the settings;
  • Calendar: your dated events.

When an event is selected, a bar at the bottom of the page shows the countdown (Starts in, Ends in, Ended), the number of photos and the Edit, Deselect and Launch buttons.

The title bar

At the top of the window, the title bar can show the page title, the time, the battery (and its percentage), metrics, the sync status, a lock button and a shortcut to the settings. Right-click the bar to open Title bar display and choose what appears there.

The Lock the booth button shows the lock screen immediately: handy for stepping away without shutting down.

The account menu

Your avatar, at the top right, opens the account menu:

  • your plan (Free, Pro or Ultra) and the link to upgrade;
  • Switch account, Settings, Theme, Language;
  • Documentation (this help center) and Need help (support contact form);
  • About BoothX, What's new, the legal documents;
  • Keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+/);
  • Sign out.

Help buttons

On the Cameras and Printers pages, the Help button opens the relevant article in this help center directly: installation, settings, troubleshooting, list of compatible devices.

Zoom and full screen

  • Ctrl+= or Ctrl++ enlarges the interface, Ctrl+- shrinks it, Ctrl+0 returns to 100%. Zoom ranges from 80 to 200% and only affects BoothX.
  • F11 toggles full screen.
