Design editor
Discover the design editor
Templates and screens, how the editor is organized, autosave, undo and redo.
The editor is where you dress up your events: the printed photo and everything guests see. It opens from the Editor page in the sidebar, or from an event's page with Open the editor.
Designs are saved with the event, so you need an event first. Without one, the editor shows “Create an event first” and a Go to events button.
Templates and screens
The editor has two spaces, which you choose in the top bar:
- Templates: the layout of the final photo, the one that is printed and published in the gallery. An event can contain up to 20 templates and always keeps at least one;
- Screens: the five screens of the guest flow: Lock, Welcome, Capture, Share, End.
See The guest flow to learn when each screen is shown.
How the editor is organized
| Area | Role |
|---|---|
| Top bar | Event selection, Templates / Screens, undo / redo, test page, preview, save status, More actions menu. |
| Left rail | The tools: Templates, Text, Shapes, Elements, Photobooth, Drawing, Import, AI, Layers. |
| Panel | The content of the tool chosen in the rail. |
| Stage | The current template or screen, with its zoom (Fit to screen, zoom in / out). |
| Properties bar | The settings of the selected element: position, size, colors, effects, order. With nothing selected: the background, the format, the transition. |
| Filmstrip | Thumbnails of the templates (or screens) to switch from one to another. |
Manage templates
From the filmstrip or the More actions menu:
- New template;
- Duplicate, Rename (or double-click the name), Move left / right;
- Delete (with confirmation: the template and all its content are deleted);
- Reset: the template returns to its original layout (3:4 format, one photo slot, the title and the date);
- Delete everything on this template: deletes all elements except one photo slot.
For screens: Reset this screen and Delete everything on this screen.
Saving
The editor saves your changes automatically. The top bar shows Saving…, then Saved. If saving fails (Save failed), click Retry saving. Ctrl+S forces an immediate save (Save now).
If the booth is linked to an account, the design is sent to the web panel. A design changed on the panel arrives in the editor (“Design updated from the BoothX panel.”).

Stage zoom
Ctrl++ / Ctrl+- zoom in and out of the stage, Ctrl+0 fits it to the screen. This zoom only changes the display, not the actual size of the design.
The 3D layer view
3D layer view (top bar or Layers panel) spreads the elements out in depth so you can see how they are stacked: handy for finding an element hidden under another. Adjust the Spacing and Tilt, then Close (Esc).
