Install your photo printer's driver
Download and install the official driver for a dye-sublimation printer before connecting it to the booth.
BoothX prints using your printer's official driver. Without this driver, the printer doesn't appear in the app, or it appears without any photo format.
Before you start
- Don't connect the printer yet: install the driver first.
- Close BoothX during the installation.
- Have the exact model at hand, shown on the label on the back of the printer (for example DS620A, CP-D90DW, CX-02).
Windows
- Go to the manufacturer's official website, Support or Drivers section: DNP, Mitsubishi Electric, Citizen, HiTi, Sinfonia, Kodak or Canon.
- Download the driver for your model and for 64-bit Windows.
- Run the installer as administrator and follow the steps.
- Connect the printer over USB, directly to the computer, then turn it on.
- Wait for Windows to finish setting it up: the printer appears in Settings › Bluetooth & devices › Printers & scanners.
macOS
- Download the manufacturer's macOS driver, then install the package.
- Connect and turn on the printer.
- Add it in System Settings › Printers & Scanners if it isn't added automatically.
In BoothX
- Open the Printers page: the printer appears under Detected printers within a few seconds.
- Click Use to make it the photobooth printer.
- Print a test page to check the format and margins.
Consumables
A dye-sublimation printer uses a matched ribbon and paper: the paper size (4 × 6", 5 × 7", 6 × 8"…) must match the installed ribbon. After changing consumables, print another test page.
