Create and edit an event
Type, name, dates, all day, plan limits and creating from the booth or the web panel.
An event groups everything related to one job: its design (templates and screens), its photos, its videos, its online gallery and its statistics. You create one per job: a wedding, a trade show, a corporate party.
Create an event on the booth
- Open the Events page.
- Click Create (or Create an event if the list is empty).
- Fill in the Create an event window:
- Type: Wedding, Birthday, Corporate, Party, Christening, Trade show or Other. The type gives the event its icon and guides the suggested templates;
- Name: for example “Julie & Thomas's Wedding”. This is the name shown in your lists and, by default, on the guest screens;
- Schedule dates (optional): see below.
- Click Create event.
The event opens on its page. It gets a default design that you can customize in the editor.
Dates and times
- Without dates, the event stays available at any time: handy for a long-term rental booth or a recurring event.
- With Schedule dates, enter a Start and an End. The end must be after the start.
- All day removes the times: only the dates count.
Dates are used to sort events (Upcoming, Ended, No date), to show them in the Dashboard Calendar, and to display the countdown (Starts in, Ends in) in the selected event bar.
Times are in the booth's time zone, which you can set in Settings › General › Time zone. Keep this in mind if you're preparing an event abroad.
Edit an event
On the event's page, click Edit in the Information section. The Edit event window lets you change the type, name and dates. Click Save.
You can also edit an event from its card in the list (card menu, Edit) or from the selected event bar.
How many events?
The number of saved events depends on your plan:
| Plan | Events |
|---|---|
| Free | 20 |
| Pro | 100 |
| Ultra | 500 |
The creation window shows your usage, for example “12 of 20 events used”. When the limit is reached, BoothX shows Limit of 20 events reached: delete an old event (after retrieving its photos) or upgrade to a higher plan (Pro, then Ultra).
Create from the web panel
You can also prepare an event from your desktop computer on app.boothx.org, Events page, New event button. Once the booth is connected to the internet, it receives the event automatically. In the panel's list, each event shows its origin: Created on the booth or Created on the panel.
Changes go both ways: a design changed on the panel arrives on the booth, and vice versa. If you change the same design in both places at the same time, the booth's editor warns you: “This design was changed on the panel: your current edits replace it.”
Best practices
- One event per job: statistics, gallery and photo folder stay separate.
- Duplicate a successful event to start from its design (see Manage your events).
- Name clearly: the date or venue in the name helps you find an event a year later.
