Templates, packs, AI and preview

Templates

The Templates tool in the rail offers ready-to-use designs, organized into Collections:

• Photo templates: complete templates (slots, text, decoration). Add as a new template adds it to the event, Apply to the current template replaces the template being edited;
• Screens: screen designs. Apply to the “Welcome” screen styles the screen being displayed;
• Complete themes: a consistent theme for the event's five screens. Install screens styles them all in one click.

Available filters: Capture type, Number of photos, Screen, and the collection.

It's the fastest way to get a presentable event: install a complete theme, add a photo template, then customize the title and colors.

Pro templates

Templates marked with a lightning bolt are reserved for the Pro and Ultra plans. If you click one with the Free plan, BoothX offers to Upgrade your plan. Pro and Ultra give access to all Pro screen and photo templates, and to new collections as soon as they are released.

Template packs

Collections are files independent of the app: a pack bought on the Shop is added without updating BoothX.

• Install a pack: choose the pack file (.json) you received after purchase. BoothX confirms “Template pack installed.”;
• Open the packs folder: the folder where installed packs are stored.

A file that isn't a valid pack is rejected: “This file is not a valid BoothX template pack.”

AI

The AI tool previews design generation by artificial intelligence:

• Describe the design: “Rustic wedding, sage and gold tones, elegant typography”;
• Styles: Elegant, Festive, Minimal, Vintage, Neon, Nature, Pastel, Black and white;
• Apply to: this template, this screen, a new template or the five screens;
• Announced AI tools: background removal, photo enhancement, automatic palette, text translation, suggested texts, auto layout.

These features are marked Coming soon. Your request is kept in the meantime: “AI generation is coming soon”. Since AI processing runs on our servers, it will be part of the pay-as-you-go services (see Free forever or pay-as-you-go).

Preview

Full-screen preview (F5) shows the design as guests will see it:

• →, ↓, Page Down or Space: next item; ←, ↑, Page Up or Backspace: previous;
• Home / End: first / last;
• P: Auto-play (and stop);
• Photos in the slots: fills the slots with photos;
• Esc: close the preview.

Online library

BoothX library (Elements tool) and BoothX Cloud (Import tool) will show the elements and media published from your online space. Syncing your online media is coming soon.

Design tips

• Readability: a welcome screen is read from three meters away. One title, one instruction, one background.
• Contrast: light text on a dark background, or the reverse. Avoid text over a busy photo without an overlay.
• Consistency: the same colors and fonts on the screens and the template; reuse your clients' branding (invitation, logo).
• Margins: on the template, nothing important less than 5 mm from the edge.
• Test: preview (F5), then a printed test page, then a real session.
