Before the event

How long does it take to prepare an event?

About ten minutes with a theme from the library: create the event, install a complete theme, adjust the title, print a test page. See Your first event in ten minutes.

Can I prepare the event from my office?

Yes, in the web panel at app.boothx.org. The booth receives it as soon as it's connected to the internet. Do this sync the day before if the venue has no network.

Can I reuse the design of a previous event?

Yes: Duplicate on the event page creates a copy with the same design, without the photos.

During the event

How do I stop guests from leaving the event?

Set a PIN or a pattern (Settings › Kiosk). Without a code, the exit gesture is enough to leave the event. To go further: Kiosk mode and security.

I forgot my PIN.

On the unlock screen, tap Forgot your code?, then Code by email: a one-time code is sent to the owner account's address. Or unlock the booth remotely from the web panel. See Locking with a PIN or pattern.

The camera disconnected in the middle of the evening.

BoothX tries to reopen the session automatically and shows guests a waiting message. Check the cable and the camera's power supply, and enable Keep USB ports powered. See Camera not detected.

The printer is out of paper.

Replace the paper and ribbon: unprinted layouts remain saved and can be reprinted from Storage. See Reprint and export.

Can I monitor the booth without being next to it?

Yes: the web panel shows each booth's status and alerts (printer, camera, disk, battery), and lets you stop the event, lock or restart the booth remotely. See Monitor your booths.

Can I use a button to trigger photos?

Yes: a USB button or a remote that sends the Space or Enter key starts the session just like tapping the screen.

The modes

Can I offer photo and video in the same event?

That's what multi-mode events are for: guests choose their activity on the welcome screen. See Multi-mode event.

Does the video guestbook record sound?

Yes, if a microphone is connected and allowed; the booth's music is muted during recording. See The video booth.

Can I control the odds of winning on the wheel?

Yes: each prize has a weight, and BoothX shows its actual chance as a percentage, with a stock that prevents anyone from winning a prize that's run out. See The wheel of fortune.

Can I collect players' email addresses?

Yes, with the contest, provided you obtain their consent. The data stays on the booth, can be exported as CSV and purged. See Contest: GDPR consent, CSV export and purge.

Sharing photos

How do guests get their photos?

By scanning the QR code on the sharing screen: it leads to the event's online gallery. See Sharing QR code and online gallery.

Does the QR code work without internet on site?

The QR code is always displayed. The gallery fills up as soon as the booth is back on the network: guests who scan during the evening will see their photos later.

How do I hand over all the photos to the client?

Send them the gallery link, or copy the event folder (Storage › Open folder) to a USB drive. See Reprint and export.

After the event

How do I get an event report?

The Dashboard and the web panel give the number of photos, prints, gallery views and downloads; the game booth adds games played and prizes won. See Booth statistics and activity.

Do I have to delete the event?

Not necessarily. Delete it once the photos are backed up if you need space or if you're nearing your plan's event limit. Deleting erases the photos from the booth and deactivates the gallery link.
