Sharing QR code and online gallery
How guests get their photos, what you need for the online gallery and how to share it.
At the end of each session, the sharing screen shows a QR code. Guests scan it with their phone and find their photos in the event's online gallery, with no app to install.
The sharing QR code
The QR code leads to the event gallery's address, on cloud.boothx.org. It's the same for the whole evening: a guest who scans it sees all the event's photos, not just their own.
In the editor, the QR code is a widget on the Share screen (Sharing QR code). You can move it, resize it and add text next to it (“Scan to get your photos”). To make sure it scans well:
- keep it large enough (at least a quarter of the screen's height);
- leave a clear margin around it;
- avoid placing it on a busy or moving background.
What you need for the online gallery
- The booth must be linked to a BoothX account (see Sign in and link the booth).
- Photos are uploaded when the booth is connected to the internet. With no network during the evening, they're uploaded as soon as the connection returns: the QR code stays valid, and the gallery fills up later.
- The online gallery is a service that uses storage and bandwidth: it's part of the pay-as-you-go services, with a free quota. See Free forever or pay-as-you-go.
Finding the gallery link
- On the booth: the event's page, Gallery and sharing section, Online gallery row, Open the gallery button.
- On the web panel: Events page, Gallery column, Share button (“Your guests get their photos with this link”).
You can send this link to the newlyweds or your corporate client, or publish it after the event.
Link status
On the web panel, each gallery shows Link active or Link expired. If you delete the event, its gallery link no longer works.
Email or text sharing
Sending photos by email or text directly from the booth is part of the pay-as-you-go services. Each text or email sent uses credits; the QR code stays free and unlimited. See Free quotas and credits.
Local gallery
Regardless of the cloud, all photos stay on the booth:
- on the Storage page, filtered by event and by type;
- in the event folder (Storage › Open folder).
See The Storage page.
Privacy
The gallery is accessible to anyone who has the link. If your client wants a more discreet gallery, don't share the link beyond the guests; if they don't want a gallery at all, remove the QR code widget from the Share screen in the editor. Let your guests know, with a short text on the welcome screen, that their photos will be visible in the event gallery.
