Getting started
Your first event in ten minutes
From connecting the equipment to launch: the checklist for a successful first evening.
This guide takes you from installation to a booth ready to welcome guests. Allow about ten minutes if your equipment is already unpacked.
1. Connect the equipment
- Plug the camera in over USB directly into the computer (no hub), turn it on and remove the lens cap. A USB webcam also works for a first try.
- If you print: install the printer driver before connecting it (see Install your photo printer's driver), then plug it in and turn it on.
- Connect the guest screen. With two screens, you keep one for yourself and reserve the other for guests.
2. Check the camera
Open the Cameras page:
- Your camera appears under Devices. Click Open session, then Start preview.
- Take a Test photo to check exposure and framing.
- While you're there, set the Countdown (3, 5 or 10 s), the number of Photos per session (1 to 4) and the Delay between photos.
Details: The Cameras page.
3. Check the printer
Open the Printers page:
- The printer appears among the detected printers within a few seconds. Click Use to make it the booth's printer.
- Choose the Paper size that matches the installed ribbon (4 × 6", 6 × 8"…).
- Run a Test page.
Details: Print settings.
4. Create the event
- Open Events, then Create.
- Choose a Type (Wedding, Birthday, Corporate, Party, Christening, Trade show or Other) and enter a Name (“Julie & Thomas's Wedding”).
- If the event has set times, turn on Schedule dates and enter the start and end. Without dates, the event stays available at any time.
- Click Create event.
Details: Create and edit an event.
5. Design the event
From the event's page, click Open the editor:
- Templates: the layout of the printed photo (photo slots, title, date, decoration). Check that the template format matches the printer paper;
- Screens: what guests see at each step (lock, welcome, capture, share, end).
The quickest way: open Templates in the left rail and install a complete theme on all five screens in one click. See Discover the editor.
6. Secure the booth
Before welcoming the public, set a PIN or a pattern in Settings › Kiosk. Without a code, anyone who knows the exit gesture can leave the event. See PIN or pattern lock.
7. Do a full test run
Launch the event (Launch on the event's page, or Ctrl+A with the event selected) and do a session as a guest would: touch the screen, smile, wait for the layout, check the print and scan the QR code with your phone.
To leave the event: perform the exit gesture (swipe from the colored area to the ring) or press Esc, then enter your code.
