Synced settings profiles
Save your settings in profiles, share them between your booths, Automatic mode and offline operation.
Settings profiles save a booth's settings (theme, display, kiosk, power…) in your BoothX account, so you can apply them to other booths or get them back after a reinstall. Ideal for a rental company that wants identically configured booths.
Profiles require an account: “Sign in to your BoothX account to save your settings in profiles and share them between your booths.”
The profile picker
At the top of the settings, the Settings profile picker shows the current profile:
- Automatic profile: the booth follows the account's default profile;
- Profile of this booth: a profile chosen for this booth;
- Local settings: no profile, the settings stay on this booth.
It also shows the sync status: Synced, Syncing…, Changes waiting to be sent, Offline.
Create a profile
- Configure the booth the way you want.
- Open the profile picker, Configuration profiles section, then New.
- Give it a name (“Wedding booth”, “Touch trade-show booth”).
The current settings are saved in the profile. An account can have up to 20 profiles.
For each profile: Use this profile, Rename, Duplicate, Delete.
The default profile and Automatic mode
A profile can be set as default. All booths in Automatic mode then follow that profile: change the default profile, and all those booths change with it.
If no profile exists, BoothX can create a Default profile with the current settings.
Switch profiles
When you switch profiles, BoothX warns you that this booth's settings will be replaced. If you've changed settings that aren't saved yet:
- Replace: unsaved changes are lost;
- Save first: the current settings are sent to the current profile before the switch (and shared with the booths that use it);
- Cancel.
Some settings (graphics engine) apply at the next start: a banner tells you so (“The “…” profile changed settings that will apply at the next start”).
Edit a profile
When a booth uses a profile, your settings changes are sent to that profile and reach the other booths that use it. Online booths receive the change live.
Offline
- Offline, local settings remain active and the booth works normally.
- Changes are queued and sent when the network comes back (“Offline · changes pending”).
- Switching profiles requires a connection: “Offline: reconnect the booth to the internet to switch profiles.”
In the web panel
Profiles can also be managed from app.boothx.org, on the Booth settings page. The panel shows which profile each booth uses.
Which settings are in a profile?
The booth's operating settings, including: theme and automatic theme, zoom, title bar, close confirmation, kiosk options (exit gesture, “Before you start” popup, shortcut blocking, ghost cursor, lock screen options), power and battery, and auto-recovery. Settings tied to a specific booth's hardware (camera, printer, screen assignment) stay local. Events, designs and photos aren't part of profiles: they sync separately, per event.
The booth's PIN is never sent in a profile: each booth keeps its own.
