Troubleshooting printers
Printer missing or in error, prints off-center, faded or with margins.
The printer doesn't appear
- Check that the manufacturer's driver is installed (see Install your photo printer's driver).
- Plug the USB cable directly into the computer, without a hub.
- Turn the printer off and on again, and wait a few seconds.
- Click Refresh on the Printers page.
The printer shows “Error”
- Check the paper, the ribbon and that the cover is closed.
- Open the system's print queue (System settings from the Printers page) and delete any stuck jobs.
- Print a test page again.
No paper size is offered
The driver is incomplete or generic. Uninstall the printer from the system, reinstall the official driver, then plug it back in.
The print is off-center or has white margins
- Choose a paper size that matches the installed ribbon.
- Turn on Borderless printing in the print settings.
- Check that the template's format (for example 2:3 for a 4 × 6" print) matches the paper.
The print is faded or streaked
Use genuine consumables, matched to each other, and store them away from heat and humidity.
