Text, shapes, elements, drawing and layers

Text

The Text tool in the rail offers:

• Add a heading, Add a subheading, Add some text;
• Preset styles and Combinations (matching heading and subheading): click a style to add it, or to apply it to the selected text;
• Fonts: search for a font and click it to apply it.

Double-click a text to edit it. In the properties bar:

• size (Decrease size, Increase size), Bold, Italic, Underline;
• alignment (left, center, right) and Text color;
• Effects: Neon glow, Outline (color and thickness), 3D relief (depth);
• Spacing: letter spacing and line spacing.

Tip: on the Welcome screen, short, large text reads from a distance; keep the details for the printed template.

Shapes

The Shapes tool adds geometric shapes: rectangle, rounded rectangle, circle, triangle, star, hexagon, pentagon, diamond, line, arrow, heart.

Set the Fill, the Outline (color, thickness), corner Rounding and Opacity. Quick colors apply a color in one click; Custom color opens the picker. The picker keeps your Recent colors.

Elements

The Elements tool offers a library of icons sorted by theme: Party, Love, Nature, Celebration, Photo, Symbols and arrows. Use Search elements: “cake”, “heart”, “snowflake”…

You can also Import an SVG: your vector logos and illustrations appear in Your SVGs and stay sharp at any size.

Import images and videos

The Import tool adds your files:

• From the computer: Import files, or drag them straight into the panel;
• Paste a path or a URL, then Add;
• Event photos: photos already taken during the event, for an end screen or a memory wall.

Accepted formats: PNG, JPG, WebP, BMP, GIF, SVG, MP4, MOV, WebM, AVI, MKV. Imported files appear in Imported media.

A video as the welcome screen background catches the eye; keep it short and light so it loops smoothly.

Drawing

The Drawing tool lets you draw freehand, with a finger or the mouse:

• Pencil, Marker, Highlighter, Eraser tools;
• Size, Opacity, Color settings.

Strokes are added to the selected drawing layer (a new layer is created otherwise). The eraser only erases that layer. New drawing layer and Clear the selected layer are in the panel. Click Finish drawing to go back to selection.

Common properties

For any selected element, the properties bar offers:

• Opacity and Shadow;
• Position, size and order: coordinates, width (W) and height (H), Center on the page;
• Order: Bring to front, Bring forward, Send backward, Send to back;
• Lock / Unlock, Duplicate, Delete.

A locked element can't be moved or deleted: “Unlock the element to delete it”.

Background

With nothing selected, the properties bar sets the template's or screen's Background. For a background image or video, import it (Import tool), enlarge it to the size of the page and use Send to back.

Layers

The Layers panel lists all the elements of the template or screen, from front to back:

• click a layer to select it, then use Bring forward / Send backward (or Ctrl+] / Ctrl+[) to change its order;
• Select all, Delete selection, Delete all, Reset;
• 3D layer view to visualize the stack.

“Delete all” always keeps one photo slot on templates, and can be undone with Ctrl+Z.

Screen widgets

Some elements only exist on screens, and only once per screen: Camera live view (Capture), Countdown (Capture), Sharing QR code (Share), Start button (Welcome), Layout preview, Cancel button. They're in the Photobooth tool, under Widgets. See Photo slots, formats and paper.
