Game booth
The game booth: quiz, wheel and contest
The three games, what they're for, the hardware you need and how to set up an activity on a stand.
Mode being rolled out. The game booth is arriving gradually in BoothX releases. Depending on your version, some games or settings may not be available yet.
The game booth turns your booth into a stand or party activity: visitors play on the touch screen and leave with a prize, a discount voucher or simply their score. Like the rest of BoothX, it works on the booth, without an internet connection, and it's free.
The games
| Game | How it works | Ideal for |
|---|---|---|
| Quiz | A series of multiple-choice questions, with a score at the end. | Trade shows, corporate parties, weddings (“How well do you know the couple?”). |
| Wheel of fortune | The player spins the wheel and wins the prize in the slot where it stops. | Stands, openings, promotional events. |
| Contest | The player leaves their contact details with their consent to enter a draw or receive their prize. | Collecting contacts at a trade show, in compliance with GDPR. |
The contest can be combined with the quiz or the wheel: the player signs up, plays, then discovers their result.
Hardware
- A touch screen: the games are played with a finger, with large touch areas.
- A printer (recommended): to print the prize screen, which the player shows at the stand to collect their prize.
- A camera isn't needed.
Opening the game booth
The game booth opens from the launcher (Game booth card) or from its entry in the sidebar. Like the other modes, it works on the selected event: games played, prizes won and sign-ups are attached to that event.
Preparing an activity
- Choose the game that fits your goal: raising brand awareness (quiz), drawing people in (wheel), collecting contacts (contest).
- Prepare the content: the quiz questions, or the wheel prizes with their odds and stock.
- Write the rules if you're running a contest: prizes, duration, terms, data controller. Display them or keep them available at the stand.
- Test about ten games before opening, then reset the statistics.
- Lock the booth (PIN or pattern) so no one can change the prizes during the activity.
During the activity
- The leaderboard can loop on a second screen to attract passersby.
- The statistics (games played, prizes won per prize) can be followed live from your screen.
- The stock of each prize goes down with each win: a prize that's run out is no longer drawn.
After the activity
- Export the contest sign-ups as CSV for your contact management tool.
- Purge personal data as soon as it's no longer needed.
- Keep the statistics for your client report.
